We love helping out in the community and always go the extra mile for our customers. We’ve even walked 24 miles for Local Mencap Barnsley during the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to help raise much needed funds.Local Mencap Barnsley is a small and completely independent charity which is owned by the local people. They raise all their own funds to deliver their much-needed local projects. Their role is primarily to provide localised recreation, leisure and social facilities within the community to those with learning disabilities of all ages. To ensure people with learning disabilities and their families are listened to, understood and included as equal citizens. Their premises in the centre of Barnsley offer a state-of- the-art Sensory Room, providing experiences to suit all ages and disabilities and also a new fully equipped Changing Place.Their wide range of activities which take place throughout the week including music, karate, cooking, theatre, social evenings and much more.
