Athelstan is a three-form entry primary school, set in extensive grounds. As well as having a number of playgrounds and a huge playing field, they also have a wonderful Enchanted Forest Garden where pupils are able to take part in ’Forest School’ activities.
Their pride and joy is ‘Buster’, an actual double decker London bus, who sits in the playground, having been lovingly converted into a library for pupils to enjoy.
Athelstan is proud to have achieved a number of quality marks, including the Primary Science Gold Mark, the Gold Sports’ Mark and the Silver Arts’ Mark, which recognises the high quality of their provision in the Arts.
They are a Read Write Inc Model School and have also been granted Achievement for All Lead School status, the only school of this type in the Yorkshire and Humberside region.
WHAT THEY SAID
In 2013 we were in need of a new Intruder system for our school, after doing my research I came across Infinite Fire & Security based in Barnsley. I called the Infinite office and asked for a site visit. Chris came to visit site looked around the current system we had in place and gave us a couple of options and explained them to us. We were happy with the quote that was provided and agreed for Chris and his team to commence with the works.
The works were done to an high standard with no corners cut.
April 2018, we became the proud owners of Buster (our double decker bus) we knew we somehow needed to have Buster alarmed but wasn’t sure how we could do this. After being happy with the last installation and process I called the Infinite office again and asked the question. Chris called out to site to take a look at Buster and advised he would be able to add the bus to the current Intruder system we had in the school.
Since our original install we have had our Intruder Alarm serviced as per our insurance requirements by them.
